Senior Estimator - Public Infrastructure

An established electrical construction and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator - Public Infrastructure to join its growing estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned estimating professional to play a key role in delivering complex public infrastructure projects across sectors including water treatment, wastewater treatment, aviation, transit, and commercial construction.

The successful candidate will lead the development of accurate and competitive electrical estimates, provide guidance to estimating team members, and collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates for design-build and plan/specification projects.
  • Develop and maintain estimating standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Lead and mentor Estimators, Estimator Trainees, and other team members.
  • Support estimating system training and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the quotation process with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure complete scope coverage and competitive pricing.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and General Contractors to deliver high-quality estimates within required deadlines.
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing estimating databases, assemblies, units, and pricing information.
  • Review project documentation, specifications, and drawings to identify scope requirements and project risks.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance throughout the estimating process.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of electrical estimating experience.
  • Experience within commercial construction, water treatment plants (WTP), wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), aviation, transit, or related infrastructure sectors.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with a design-build contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, labour productivity, and estimating principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development abilities.
  • Proficient in estimating software and construction cost analysis tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be authorised to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
