We are working with an established Texas heavy civil contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the state.
They are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to take ownership of complex hard-bid estimates across roadway, highway, bridge and heavy civil projects.This is an opportunity to join an experienced estimating and operations team while working on infrastructure projects that have a direct impact on the communities and transportation networks across Texas.
This role provides the opportunity to work on complex transportation and heavy civil infrastructure projects while developing your estimating experience alongside established operations and estimating professionals.
You'll get to expand your experience in roadway, bridge, paving, drainage, utilities, earthwork and large-scale civil construction, with the opportunity to take increasing ownership of major bids and contribute directly to project strategy.

- Work on large-scale highway, roadway and bridge projects across Texas.
- Take ownership of complex estimates from quantity take-off through bid submission.

- Develop your experience across multiple areas of heavy civil construction.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates and bid proposals for heavy civil and roadway projects, working closely with operations and leadership throughout the estimating process.Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed hard-bid estimates and proposals.
- Reviewing plans, specifications, quantities and project requirements.
- Performing detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
- Developing pricing for concrete and asphalt paving, roadway construction, drainage, underground utilities, earthwork and structures.
- Estimating highway and bridge construction projects.
- Obtaining and analyzing subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Reviewing production rates, material costs and labor requirements.
- Supporting pre-bid meetings and overall bid strategy.
- Identifying project risks, opportunities and value-engineering options.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Operations and senior leadership throughout the bid process.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- 4+ years of heavy civil/highway estimating experience.
- 4+ years of hard-bid estimating experience.
- Experience estimating projects in the $5M-$30M+ range.
- Strong experience across:
- Roadway construction and reconstruction
- Concrete and asphalt paving
- Road widening
- Drainage and underground utilities
- Earthwork and roadway dirt work
- Highway and bridge construction
- Heavy civil concrete structures
- Strong quantity take-off, material pricing and cost-analysis skills.
- The ability to interpret plans and specifications and develop accurate estimates.
- Strong understanding of construction production rates and project costs.
- Experience using estimating software such as HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Viewpoint, Primavera or similar platforms.
- Strong Excel, computer and analytical skills.
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
