Senior Construction Project Manager

An established construction and property consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Belfast team.

This is a senior, client-facing opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of major projects, develop client relationships and play an active role in business growth and team development.

You will work across a varied project portfolio including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, infrastructure, public sector, regeneration and mixed-use developments.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will take a leading role in the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion, acting as a trusted advisor to clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction and completion
  • Acting as the primary client contact and providing strategic project advice
  • Establishing and managing project governance structures
  • Developing project programmes, delivery strategies and reporting frameworks
  • Leading multidisciplinary consultant and stakeholder teams
  • Managing project scope, programme, quality, budget and performance
  • Identifying and managing project risks and mitigation strategies
  • Overseeing procurement and consultant/contractor appointments
  • Managing change control and providing commercial and strategic advice
  • Chairing senior project meetings and presenting project reports
  • Supporting contract administration and statutory approvals
  • Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Supporting business development and fee management
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members

About You

  • Degree qualified in Construction Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Surveying or a related discipline
  • Strong experience delivering construction/property projects within consultancy, client-side or contractor environments
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and governance
  • Proven experience managing projects across the full project lifecycle
  • Good knowledge of NEC, JCT or similar construction contracts
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong leadership and multidisciplinary team management experience
  • Excellent programme, risk, reporting and commercial management skills
  • Experience with business development, client relationship management and fee management
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior professionals
  • Chartered status such as MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or equivalent is preferred but not essential
