Mobile Facilities & Public Convenience Operatives (Multi-Site Roles)

Location: Belfast City Council - Mobile across Belfast (public conveniences, parks, sports facilities and council buildings)
Contract: Temporary - 12 Weeks Initial Assignment
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) - shifts vary across day, evening and weekend operations depending on site requirements
Pay Rate: £13.47 per hour PAYE
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Mobile Facilities Operatives to support Belfast City Council across a range of facilities including public conveniences, parks, open spaces, sports facilities, and other council-managed sites.
These are mobile, multi-site roles where you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, security, and customer service across various locations in Belfast.
You will work as part of a Facilities Management and Neighbourhood Services team, supporting both operational cleaning duties and wider site-based responsibilities depending on assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning duties across public conveniences, parks, and council facilities
- Maintain high standards of hygiene across internal and external areas
- Open, close, and secure sites including alarm setting and access control
- Drive council vehicles safely across multiple city locations
- Complete daily vehicle checks and required driving documentation
- Replenish cleaning supplies and consumables across sites
- Complete cleaning logs, records, and operational documentation
- Provide excellent customer service to members of the public and facility users
- Monitor site usage and support booking compliance where required
- Support events, functions, and community activities as needed
- Carry out health & safety checks and report hazards, defects, or incidents
- Assist with minor maintenance, inspections, and site upkeep tasks
- Undertake patrols of sites and car parks to prevent vandalism and misuse
- Work in line with all council policies including health & safety and safeguarding
About You
Experience
- Minimum 1 year's experience in:
- Cleaning, facilities management, or mobile multi-site operations
- Working in public-facing environments
- Experience using cleaning equipment and following health & safety procedures
Essential Requirements
- Full, current driving licence
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites and varying shift patterns
